Senior API Tester

A professional job-seeker is needed for a Senior API Tester position in West Chester, PA!

Responsibilities of the Senior API Tester include:

  • Designing and building high quality test components according to documented standards and established frameworks.
  • Performing execution of test cases and report on results; analyzing failures for root cause of test failures.
  • Creating test strategy/plans and establish test tasks at project level.
  • Analyzing functional requirements for completeness, correctness and clarity to drive test plan and strategies;
  • Analyzing opportunities for automation of test execution, results analysis, test data creation and environment configuration;
  • Identifying test environment configuration to support test execution;
  • Analyzing for opportunities to increase testing efficiencies in development deliverables.
  • Working with the project team and test team to address issues and report status.
  • Working with the Developers to collaborate on deliveries to test environments and debugging of results.
  • Coordinating manual and automated test execution with other team members.
  • Analyzing functional requirements and system design to determine test strategy/plan for both manual and automated testing approach.
  • Developing test cases based upon test strategy and test coverage;
  • Making decision for the opportunities in the areas of functional test coverage, metrics analysis and quality assessment

Requirements of the Senior API Tester:
  • Bachelors in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Minimum 4 years of  hands on experience using tools (SOAP UI)
  • Minimum 2 years hands on experience with API automation using POSTMAN and Newman and with web / mobile automation
  • Fluent in Javascript, groovy, Java
  • Deep practical knowledge of all testing fundamentals and approaches
  • Hands-on experience testing and driving quality of testing practice.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to learn quickly
  • Can discern business needs and prioritize effectively
