Legal Secretary


A mid-size law firm is looking for a full-time Legal Secretary or Paralegal to work for a partner in the firm's Insurance and Casualty Litigation Practice in its Center City location! The salary for this position starts at $45K but can be negotiable based on the candidate's skill and experience

Responsibilities of the Legal Secretary include:

  • Heavy calendaring for all depositions, court hearings, and deadlines.
  • Handling subpoena and HIPAA requests and following up with providers, employers, and other entities.
  • E-filing (NJ Federal and State, PA, NY).
  • Setting up depositions, noticing, scheduling court reporters, and following up with obtaining transcripts.
  • Redaction/Bates Stamping.
  • Preparing correspondence and sending it to clients and adversaries.
  • Conflict checks, opening new files.
  • Putting together motions/discovery and sending them to clients and adversaries.
  • Scanning, faxing, and organization of large volume of documents and medical records.
  • Confirming appointments.
  • Performing other administrative duties as needed (attorney registration, CLE, etc.).

Requirements of the Legal Secretary:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of law office experience
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
