Manage departments providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all activities that will assist management in making financial decisions.
Responsibilities of the Controller include:
Working with the CFO to assist with and advise on financial direction.
Managing accounting activities.
Generating financial statements and other financial reports to support management on making financially sound decisions.
Managing billing activities and partnering with other departments on improving processes efficiency to ensure timely and accurate billing.
Managing accounts receivable activities and collaborating with other departments to ensure funds are collected timely and in the right amounts.
Managing accounts payable activities ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, optimizing discounts and cash flow.
Managing payroll activities ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all components.
Managing income taxes, payroll taxes and other taxes to ensure accuracy and timely completion taking full advantage of all favorable opportunities and avoiding interest charges and penalty fees.
Preparing cost per visit analyses and works coordinately with other departments to ensure the optimum cost per visit.
Managing overhead expenses and meets with department heads to review month and year to date expenses compared to budget.
Reconciling the G/L, Accounting, and other software to ensure information integrity.
Leading initiatives to improve internal control while observing and adhering to policies and internal control procedures.
Developing and implementing initiatives to improve company processes efficiency.
Communicating with other departments to provide them with support.
