Donna Pearson-mother, community leader, and entrepreneur-founded Contemporary Staffing Solutions in 1994.
A most remarkable woman, she was widely respected as one of the most successful businesswomen in the Delaware Valley. Her dedication to hard work, team spirit, honesty, and fair-play has become legendary among her peers.
Like many other women, Donna Pearson had for years applied her 'entrepreneurial' skills to community work while at home raising her five children. For example, she recruited 40 teachers to instruct 400 children as part of her church's religious instruction program.
Taking a job as a customer service representative, she was promoted to management after just six months. In 1981 she became a placement counselor with a national staffing firm. She increased business by 600% and took the office to number one within its national organization.
She started her first placement businesses with a partner in 1992. Two years later, in 1994, she set sail as a solo entrepreneur, founding Contemporary Staffing Solutions in Mt. Laurel, NJ. Four years later, the business had expanded to five offices across the Delaware Valley, supporting 40 full time employees.
Donna Pearson says recruiting her children into the business was the toughest decision she ever had to make. "I did not want to interfere with their lives. We are a close family, and working, playing, and socializing can be too much for some families, but we've managed to balance work and family beautifully."
The continued success of Contemporary Staffing Solutions, and the on-going involvement of her family in every aspect of the company, is a testament to the strength of her vision, dedication, and indomitable spirit.
